Applied terahertz optics and spectroscopy

Our current terahertz (THz) activities focus on:

• Machine-learning assisted THz identification of materials
• THz Synthetic Aperture Radar techniques (THz-SAR)
• Metamaterials for high-sensitivity terahertz spectroscopy
• THz photonic crystal components for wireless 6G photonics
• Quantification of polymer degradation using THz spectroscopy

New optical technologies for defense and security

We have recently started a collaboration with the Danish Police on:

•  New optical technologies for forensics
• Hyper-spectral imaging for detecting evidence at crime scenes
• Optical sensing for defense applications

Basic research on nonlinear spectroscopy and imaging

Our current activities on nonlinear optics involve: 

• Simultaneous SHG (UV-VIS) and OR (THz) characterization of materials
• Ultrafast optics using femtosecond lasers
