Cleanroom laser lab (THz-Lab)
This is an image of the laser laboratory in the cleanroom. It used to be used for ultrafast time-resolved spectroscopy, but now it is used for laser ablation and for terahertz optics and spectroscopy. A caption for the image could be “Amplified femtosecond laser system for optical and terahertz spectroscopy”. The system s based on a “Tsunami” oscillator and a “Spitfire” amplifier, both from Spectra-Physics.

Femtosecond laser lab (FemtoLab)
This is an image of the lab for non-linear optical spectroscopy and imaging. The femtosecond laser system is based on a “Tsunami” oscillator from Spectra-Physics combined with an “Integra-C” amplifier from Quantronics. A “TOPAS-C” optical parametric amplifier allow us to tune the wavelength of the 100fs pulses from near UV to near-IR. The system is being used for non-linear optical spectroscopy and imaging of semiconductors and nanostructured materials.
