Bio-Mechanics Lab

The Biomechanics lab is used to develop, test, and validate exoskeleton and exoskeleton sensory systems.

The lab has multiple exoskeletons at its disposal, both commercial exoskeletons, exoskeletons developed at AAU and exoskeletons combining both technology from AAU and commercial exoskeletons.

The exoskeletons located in the lab facilities consist of active, passive and hybrid exoskeletons. Some exoskeletons, such as the E-joint or Axo-Suit, are power augmenting exoskeletons. Others such as SKELEX or LAEVO are passive exoskeletons used in an industrial context. Regardless of the type, the system can be evaluated and tested in the biomechanical lab using SEMG, FSR or motion capture.
