Nearly eight years since its inception and five years since formalizing the strategic alliance, Airbus Defence and Space and Aalborg University have extended their strategic partnership for another five years.

The scope of the collaboration has expanded significantly over time. From its origins in specific research projects, conducted between AAU Materials and Production, Operations Research and Airbus Defence and Space, the partnership has progressed to jointly participating in large international research programs such as EDIDP, ERASMUS+, and EDF.

The prolongation of the partnership was signed Thursday, April 18th, by Manager Global R&T Cooperation and Key Account Manager R&T Werner Teutsch, Airbus Defence and Space, and Thomas Bak, Dean of the Technical Faculty of IT and Design and Acting Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Science.

The collaboration with Airbus has taken many roads; participation in international research programs, involving further partners, leading to a fruitful extension of activities, variety of technologies, network, and budgets. It continues to make me proud that through industry collaboration, AAU researchers are the game changers in current and future space and defense technologies.
